Race Report - Tue 15 Apr

This was my first event as OOD. Luckily Roger was wonderful. I discussed the course with him before starting. I had managed to work out that with a SE wind the start line could be between 1 and 4 and a course of 4, 3, 6, 5, 2, 1 seemed reasonable. But Roger made it much better by getting in the safety boat to move 5, 3 and 1 further towards the dam and move 2 further east. So that not only were there beats from 1 to 4 and 3 to 6 but runs from 5 to 2 and 4 to 3, 6 to 5 and 2 to 1.

I was a bit late out on the water as I had trouble getting the committee boat started. Thanks again to Roger for rescuing me. And setting such a long course meant that there was not enough time for the 2nd race. Apologies to all the Bronze helms that had hoped to helm a race.

Thanks to John & Mick for sorting out the course in the safety boat.

Thank you too to Christina who volunteered to be OOD assistant at the last moment and for the great photos she took. See the Racing - Tue 15 Apr 2014 photo album on Facebook.
