Training Course Dates for 2017-18

RYA Level 1/2 for GP14

 

This is an RYA certificate course for club members which will give you nationally recognised qualifications. Both practical and theoretical, courses include sessions both on the water and on land. By the end of the course you should be sailing independently. If you have not yet passed the Club check-out, the course will give you a real boost and even if you have been checked out, you will find you know so much more after two solid days of skilled instruction. The cost of £130 includes your RYA logbook.  

The Course Organisers are senior instructors Tony Barton and Lesley Kaye.  It takes place over two weekends, Saturday 29th September (morning), Sunday 30th September (all day) and Saturday 6th October (morning).  Dates have been changed fro those originally on this page,  If you are interested in doing this course This email address is being protected from spambots. RYA Sailing with Spinnakers

The spinnaker is a very important sail on the GP14 and learning to use it successfully can add a great deal to your enjoyment of sailing.This course will be run by Roger Walton - it will improve your racing a great deal!  RYA Seamanship

The Seamanship course is for more experienced sailors who have already achieved RYA Level 2 and have sailed for at least a year. It covers launching and recovering the boat in different circumstances, stopping, reducing sail, recovering a man overboard & anchoring. The course will be run by Lesley Kaye, cost £130.

Safety Boat 

This is for people who have power level 2 and also at least a year’s experience doing safety duty. We can arrange a special course if there are enough members who want to do it.
